ok i have 2 cats that need to get adopted. so i put a add on pet finder. and i got a email from some guy in california that he said his daughter wants a pet cause her pet had died and he wants the cat right away and promises to give the cat a good home. the only thing i dont trust is he lives in california and i live in new york. and he says thier a shipping company that is verry relible that will pick up the cat. wouldnt he try to adopt a cat in california then across the country?? and he wants to know my name address and phone number to send a money order for the cat. but how do i know the cat will be safe or what is being done with her. is thier a safer way to do this for the cats saftey. or should i just tell him to find a cat that is closer to him?? would you trust this?/

Sweetie, Don’t worry about the cat! Do not give your name and address to this creep! If it seems weird to you that he wants a cat from so far away, it is weird! Your instincts are kicking in! Go with that feeling! He obviously is up to no good. Probably doesn’t even have a daughter! Adopt them out near home or sit out at a store with a sign or give them to the shelter. Be very careful of crazy ppl! I love cats and want every little girl to have a pet but common sense says NOT TO THIS GUY!Protect yourself!
NOPE
no
Don’t give him your personal information! Why in the heck would he want a cat from New York anyways?! Best to find a closer owner.
It is way too fishy to be safe. Tell him the cats have been adopted.
No way! I would never just send my cats. Talk to a cat rescue place and see if they can help you find a home. Exhaust family, friends, work connections, church connections but please don’t trust this guy.
NO!!! before you give your cats to anyone you need to do a specific background check on that individual first!! my babies are way to important to me to just hand them off to some unknow stranger!!! DO NOT give him your cats!! find someone in New York who is clearly a responsible caring pet owner!! I would NEVER trust somebody over the internet for anything!!!! EVER!!!
I would tell him to find a cat closer to home. The shipping would cost him more then a cat from the pet store. And cats don’t travel to well.Who to say how long it would take to get there?Would it be fed and taken care of?No I would not trust him.
Are you selling the cat, if you are, people all over buy cats, we bought a dog from another state. nothing wrong with that.
wouldnt trust it.
Cats are a dime a dozen, he’d be an idiot to spend that money to get a cat from NY to CA.
He’s probably more interested in YOU and thats why he wants the info…
Be CAREFUL!!!!!!!!
NEVER give out ANY personal info to anyone on the internet ! Why would he want a cat from New York when there’s thousands of cats needing an owner in California ? I’d delete this clowns messages and forget about him. Find someone local to adopt your cats.
Oh my, I would say not to send him the cat OR even give him any of your information.
Surely he can find a cat to adopt in CA. This just sounds too fishy.
nope dont do it cuz if you do then itll suck u kno and plus he doesnt need all dat info to send u da money order and theirs al whole lot of cats where he stays at tell him hes gay and also wat dat other people said dat da cat was adopted already
Just tell him that you aren’t comfortable giving your cats to someone you’ve never met…
Don’t send your cat. This looks like a scam to get money out of you. These people just scan on line ads and then will put on a scheme involving either check or money order to get money from you. They don’t even care what you’re selling. They just need you to be selling something. (http://www.fraud.org/toolbox/tips/english/fakechecks.htm)
first off use paypal to pay. i would also be kind of concerned about him being so far away. don’t give him ur name address or fone number. this doesn’t sound rite or safe. tell him it would be a better bet for him to get one in his own neighborhood and you should find an adoption program to adopt ur cat out to some one near u.
no, it dont sound safe to me, I wouldnt give my name number etc. on the internet.. There are alot of cats out there that are in need of homes. He can find one around where he lives.maybe suggest to him that he can go to an animal shelter or look in his local newspaper.
Think a little strange, unless trying 2 find a cat exactly the same as dead one so child wont know. Either way hes lying to someone. Trust him no!
dun do it!!
there’s just too much risk involved n he’s a total stranger!
for the cat’s own good n ur own safety, please find a cat adopter who is living much nearer to u.
NO! Don’t. You AND your babies could get hurt. Find someone closer, preferably someone you know! You should do a background check on him anyway, and report to the police if there is anything suspicious or something!
Good luck!
No way…don’t give him your personal info…We had to part with a dog of ours. We went to local vets and all of them had a board that you could post on. Look online for local animal rescues. Good luck.
ABSOLUTELY NOT! don’t even respond to this nut. go with your instincts. always.
no way, would I trust this person nor should you. I also would not want him to have that much personal info. It could lead to identity theft.
No, please do not trust this Person. If You have a gut feeling, and thank God that You do, listen to it. Find a good home for Your kittens near Your home. There are too many places that pay for Cats, and kittens for horrendous chemical testing.
Please, please do not do this. In fact go to http://www.peta.com, and give this information to them. You may be the link that could save thousands of helpless animals. Please, You have a chance to make a difference, please take it.
God Bless You, and Your decision…..
umm no i wouldnt at all you rather be safe than sorry right? what i would do is take the cats to like a pet store or like Pet co or somewhere like that. and that way your cats will be ONLY adopeted out to a good home and it will be somewhere close.
but as for the guy DONT give out personal information. he has no use of it.
Do not even remotely trust this! ANYONE on the internet that is asking for your home address/phone number etc should send up a red flag, even if you are selling something.
There are plenty of people in the New York area looking for a cat to adopt, keep it local and keep safe!!!
Frankly, I’d suggest dropping the ad on the internet all together. Put up adds with your vet and local pet stores. They can meet you there to pick up the cat.
there are lots of cats in California for him to adopt. I don’t have a good feeling about this guy, I don’t think he wants a cat I think he wants you . do not give out any information about your self to someone you do not know.
i would say no seems a little weird, never give your personal information to a stranger.
Just say you are only adopting locally and good luck on finding a pet for his daughter closer to home. Surely there are FULL animal shelters in California.
I wouldn’t do it. The guy could be some kind of stalker just trying to get info out of you. I wouldn’t trust it and just tell him nicely that you’ve found a home already.
Absolutely not Do not even bother and reply to this…Its either a scam or some one trying to get you personal information. Just forget about this guy..usally with this type of scam they will then send you a money order for a much larger amount then you request and they will ask you to cash it and give the amount over your price to the truck driver. the money order is a counterfeit But you have cashed it and will be liable to pay it back It happens all the time with for sale items.
just send it to him, for goodness sakes!!!
trust your instincts, nothing about this story makes sense
nobody is going to pay to ship a regular cat that far, he’s
after you not the cat
I find it fishy .I would wait for someone else to adopt the cat.Your instinct s are already telling you that something dont feel right.Trust those feelings and wait for the right person
